How to do it
- Clean two kettlebells to the rack position, elbows tucked and wrists straight.
- Set your feet under your hips and brace your stomach.
- Dip a few inches by bending the knees with the torso upright.
- Drive up through the legs and let that momentum start the bells upward.
- Press them the rest of the way to straight arms overhead.
- Lower them to the rack, absorbing the landing by bending the knees slightly.
Common mistakes
- Pressing before the legs have finished. The two halves run into one movement; starting the arms early wastes the drive.
- Dipping deep. A few inches is the dip — going lower is a squat the bells never accelerate out of.
- Catching the bells on locked legs. Bending the knees as they land is what lets the legs take them.
- Letting the wrists bend back at the top. Straight wrists overhead, bells settled on the forearms.
