Single-Arm Long Bar Row: the muscles it trains, from behind. Primary — Rhomboid Major, Rhomboid Minor and Middle Trapezius. Also worked — Long Head, Short Head and Latissimus Dorsi.
The muscles this trains, from behind. Deeper red is primary.

How to do it

  1. Wedge one end of a barbell into a corner or a landmine attachment and load the other end.
  2. Stand over the bar, facing the loaded end, feet either side or in a split stance.
  3. Hinge forward from the hips with a flat back and take the bar just behind the plates with one hand.
  4. Let the arm hang straight, then pull the bar to your ribs by driving the elbow back.
  5. Keep the shoulders level rather than letting the loaded side dip or rotate.
  6. Lower under control to a straight arm, then finish the side before swapping.
