How to do it
- Clean two kettlebells to the rack position, bells resting on the backs of your forearms.
- Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart and your stomach braced.
- Press one bell overhead while the other stays racked.
- Lower it back to the rack as you press the other one up.
- Keep the movement continuous so one arm is always working.
- Keep the torso upright — this is the difference between a see-saw press and a see-saw lean.
Common mistakes
- Letting the trunk rock side to side with the rhythm. One bell is always overhead and the other is always on the ribs, which makes a lean easy and makes it the thing the exercise is resisting.
- Starting the second bell before the first has settled in the rack. Overlapping turns it into a two-bell press done unevenly.
- Letting the wrists bend back. Straight wrist with the bell on the forearm, on both sides, for the whole set.
- Choosing it over a strict double press to move more weight. It lets each arm rest, which mostly makes the set longer rather than the shoulders stronger.
